Police searching for sex attacker who fled through rush-hour traffic in Leeds
The man was disturbed by a passer-by after grabbing a woman whilst she was walking through a viaduct
Police are searching for a sex attacker who ran through morning rush-hour traffic to escape, after he was caught assaulting a woman in Leeds.
Officers said he grabbed her while she was walking through a viaduct between 09.15am and 09.20am on Thursday 5th May, before dragging her to a nearby grassed area.
The man was then disturbed by someone walking past, before running off through busy traffic to get away.
Detectives have now released CCTV footage of the attacker making his way through cars, in a bid to try and identify him.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Tony Nicholson said: “This was during the morning ‘rush-hour’ and the area was very busy with traffic at the time.
“The CCTV clip shows the suspect, wearing a black coat with a light fur-trimmed hood, running on the slip road from the busy A643 to Wortley Lane, and it is likely this behaviour would have stood out.
“We would like to hear from anyone who saw him in the area and would ask that drivers who used that route at that time review their dashcam footage to see if they have filmed him as they passed in either direction."
