School boy hit by car in Leeds

A 14-year-old boy's been hit by a car as he made his way to school in Leeds.

It happened on the A64, Leeds Road at around 7.15am today (Wednesday, 30 November).

West Yorkshire Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed or has footage of the collision between a car and a 14-year-old male on the Leeds bound side of the York Road.

Officers were called out close to the Irish Centre, following a report that a Citroen DS3 car had been in collision with a teenage boy crossing the road.

The teenager was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and is in a serious condition there.

Investigations continue at the scene.

Anyone who saw or has footage of the collision, or the car and male just prior to it is asked to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team.
