Keighley Cougars sign experienced half-back Jarrod Sammut on one year deal
The 37 year old brings a wealth of Super League experience to the League 1 side
Keighley Cougars have announced the signing of experienced former Super League half-back Jarrod Sammut on a one year deal.
The 37 year old Australian brings a wealth of knowledge to the League 1 side, having enjoyed spells with Wakefield Trinity, Wigan Warriors, Bradford Bulls and London Broncos.
He started his career in the NRL with Penrith Panthers, and spent the end of last season with Bradford Bulls on loan from Workington.
Speaking to the Cougars website, Head Coach Jake Webster said: “Jarrod will now link up with the likes of Izaac Farrell, Jack Miller and Ben Dean and just share some of his experience with the halves in this team."
"Jaz and I are well versed and I know what he is capable of, he can play anywhere in the spine and that’s something I am looking to develop as the year goes on. His arrival adds competition for places and raises standards.”
