It comes as a hosepipe ban remains in place across the region

We're hearing reservoir levels across Yorkshire are continuing to decrease - even though it's rained more recently.

A hosepipe ban is still in place across the region - following the driest year in Yorkshire for 132 years.

Andy Shaw from Yorkshire Water has been telling us why the restrictions are remaining in place for now:

"Levels as they currently stand are just over 32%.

"They've fallen another 3% in the last week - and when you compare that to where they should be on average for this time of year - we're nearly 40% lower than where we would be.

"Levels have been falling since the end of January this year and they continue to do so, and that's despite having a bit of the wet stuff over the last few days.

"The rainfall was most welcomed - unfortunately though, we won't have seen any of the positive impact on our reservoir levels.

"It's been one of the warmest and driest years on record in Yorkshire, so any of the rainfall that we seem to be getting does seem to be getting soaked up by the ground."
