Private Hires In Bus Lanes?

Private Hire drivers in Leeds are hoping the city council doesn't show them the red light later today.

They're taking a thousand signature petition to highways bosses asking to be allowed to use bus lanes - at the moment only the black and white hackney carriages, emergency services and cyclists can share space with the buses.

But the cabbies say it would ease congestion for everyone and speed up journeys for their passengers.

Radio Aire's Richard Murie's taken a trip with one of the petition organisers Khalid Hussain who drives for Pudsey B-Line.
