Police searching for driver after 12-year-old injured in hit-and-run

Police are looking for a driver and a car after a 12-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run in Leeds on Saturday.

It happened in Woodhouse Street at around 21:05, between the junctions of Thomas Street and Pennington Street.

The driver failed to stop after the collision and is believed to have headed toward Meanwood Road.

The boy was taken to hospital with injuries to his head, chest and legs and has since been released with minor injuries.

Police are now trying to trace a blue Honda Civic that's believed to have been involved in the collision and may have since been abandoned.

It had the registration SA54 OSZ and officers have been unable to identify the current owner.
