Reassurance is being offered to parents worried about how safe their kids are online.

It comes after a missing Saltcoats teenager returned home safely on Tuesday 28th February following an appeal which was shared across the UK.

Police said in a statement at the time that there was a "possibility she maybe have travelled to Birmingham to meet someone she had met online."

We spoke to these parents who say they are concerned about what their children get up to online and what kind of people could be targeting them via social media.

PC Scott Murray from Irvine Police Office says it's important parents are able to communicate with their children and be open about what they do on the internet.

Anything suspicious should be reported to 101.
