Police are investigating, after two officers were taken to hospital following a road crash in Haworth.

It happened in the early hours of yesterday morning (22 June), when a van was seen driving suspiciously on Lees Lane.

The van later collided with a marked police car, leaving the officers inside injured.

Their injuries were "significant", say Police, but not life-threatening, and they have since been discharged from hospital.

The van, which officers now believe was stolen, was recovered a short time later.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police added: "Officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time stated above or that may have CCTV or dashcam footage of a van that may assist with enquiries.

"Anyone with information that may assist with enquiries is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 167 of 22/6.

"Information can also be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
