Pedestrian named after fatal crash in Leeds

A pedestrian who died after he was hit by a car in Stanningley in Leeds has been named as 26-year-old Joshua Wilson by police.

He was crossing Bradford Road when he was hit after getting off a bus at around 14:26 on Monday.

The driver of the vehicle had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and has now been released.

A second drive, who was though to be travelling alongside the first, has also been released under investigation.

On Tuesday, DS Fiona Allan from West Yorkshire Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this very serious collision which has tragically resulted in a young man losing his life.

“We would like to speak with anyone who saw or has phone or dashcam footage of the collision or who saw the BMW M2 and BMW X5 in the moments before the collision."
