Josie Barlow manages Bradford Central foodbank and she said they’ve fed over 4,500 people living within the Bradford city postcode alone.

The Trussell Trust charity says latest figures show the problem is "not a regionalised issue", with an increase of at least 28% in each area of the UK.

Across West Yorkshire from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023, the total number of food parcel distributed was over 63,000.

Josie told us she’d noticed how the latest cost of living payments for those on universal and pension credit had made a difference.

She said: "Today we’re a lot less busy than we would have been otherwise it just shows when the Government give people enough money to live, they don’t need foodbanks’

Bradford central still have concerns about their food stocks given increased demand urging people to donate.
