Appeal after man seriously injured in Normanton assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in Normanton, during which a man in his 40s was attacked by three men.

This happened between 10:30pm and 11:30pm on Sunday on South Street.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was set upon by three men who'd pulled up in a white van.

He was left with serious head injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he remains.

It's believed the suspects in the case were involved in an altercation with the victim and others at the St John’s Terrace Working Men’s Club prior to the attack.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
