The government have announced that a new office will be built in Leeds- which will help look at the UK's major infrastructure needs.

The National Infrastructure Commission will open its doors in the West Yorkshire city in June next year.

The National Infrastructure Commission building is part of the Government’s levelling-up push.

Mr Sunak described the announcement as “fantastic”, saying it would help distribute investment and create jobs across the country.

But Shadow Chancellor and Leeds West MP Rachel Reeves said she feared it was “just more talk and no action” in light of the recent scrapping of planned rail investment.

Even more, Labour's Lisa Nandy says it'll only provide around 20 jobs- and has called the move "patronising".
