Missing pensioner last seen in Leeds

Police searching for missing Harrogate pensioner George Bass have released CCTV pictures of his last confirmed sighting.

Police searching for missing Harrogate pensioner George Bass have released CCTV pictures of his last confirmed sighting.

The 77-year-old is known to have got off a bus at Leeds bus station and headed to Kirkgate market on Wednesday afternoon.

Police are working with the bus company, CCTV operators and retail outlets to try and piece together George's movements after this confirmed sighting.

As part of their enquiries, they are appealing to any members of the public, including Leeds shop workers or other public facing staff to contact them if have seen George over the past few days or know where he is now.

If George sees or hears this appeal, please get in touch with your family or the police and let us know that you are safe. If you prefer, you can call the missing people charity 116 000 in confidence.

George is described as white, 5ft 4in tall with grey receding hair, brown eyes and a pale complexion. He was last seen wearing a grey waterproof jacket with a blue fleece underneath, brown trousers, a dark blue hat, dark blue gloves and black shoes.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass information to the Force Control Room.
