Police given extra powers after man stabbed in Leeds

Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed and left seriously injured in a in Leeds on Wednesday morning (August 24).
Emergency services were called to an address in Boggart Hill Drive in Seacroft to reports a man in his 20s had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital and is believed to be in a critical condition.
Police officers have now been given extra powers to carry out stop and searches around the area.
The section 60 order means officers can carry out searches on people and vehicles without having to have their usual grounds.
The West Yorkshire force said it will help "prevent serious violence and keep communities safe".
The rules will be in place for an initial 24 hour period and will be reviewed on Thursday.
