Man Shot Dead in Harehills Named
The man who was killed in a shooting incident in Leeds on Monday night has been named as Shuel Ali Hussain.
A forensic post mortem held yesterday showed that Mr Hussain, 33, from Harehills, died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Three young men, aged 17, 19 and 20, who were arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder remain in custody as do two males, aged 15 and 16, who were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Snow, of West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "I have visited Mr Hussain's family today and they are understandably devastated at losing him in such sudden and violent circumstances.
"The investigation remains ongoing and we are continuing to search a number of addresses in Harehills and examine a number of scenes in the area of the incident.
"Mr Hussain was shot in his silver Vauxhall Astra, which was parked in Pasture Road near to the junction with Back Airlie Avenue, and then managed to make his way to the Faizan Khan Supermarket in Markham Avenue from where the emergency services were contacted at about 9pm. I would still like hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident in those locations or the circumstances leading up to it. I would also like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation."
