Man injured in shooting in Huddersfield
Police were called to Wasp Nest Road this morning
A man has been taken to hospital after a shooting in the Fartown area of Huddersfield.
Police were called to Wasp Nest Road around 9am this morning, after reports a man had got out of a grey Seat Ibiza car and fired shots into the street.
The car left the scene shortly afterwards.
A man in his 50s suffered a leg injury and was treated in hospital, but has since been discharged.
DI James Bellhouse of West Yorkshire Police, said: “All incidents involving firearms are treated extremely seriously and we are conducting a number of active enquiries into what took place."
“Fortunately the man who was injured suffered relatively minor injuries to a leg and has since been discharged from hospital, but clearly this incident could have had much worse consequences.
“I would ask anyone who saw or has footage of the shooting, or who saw the Seat Ibiza to contact us at Kirklees CID on 101 referencing police crime number 13240586880.
