A 19-year-old man's died after being hit by a lorry on the M1 junction at Garforth.

Police say he was walking by the slip road of the motorway - he's got serious injuries.

It's shut the road southbound from junctions 48 to 46 and it's thought it's going to stay closed for another few hours.

Officers are now looking for anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.

West Yorkshire Police have told us:

"Emergency services were called at 5:01 this morning (29 December) to reports of a collision between a truck and a pedestrian on the slip road of the motorway.

The vehicle involved was a white DAF articulated lorry.

A 19-year-old male pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Road closures are in place whilst emergency services are on the scene and all southbound traffic is being diverted by the A1. Road users may wish to seek alternative routes and are thanked for their patience"
