Three arrests after man from Leeds dies in Doncaster

It's believed he was assaulted outside a pub on Sunday night

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after of a man died in Doncaster. Police say a murder investigation is underway after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a bar.

30-year-old Jamie Adam Kelly, from Leeds, died in hospital on Monday.

South Yorkshire Police said that it was reported at 9.40pm on Sunday that a man was ejected from the Vintage Rock Bar on Silver Street in the town.

Police said an altercation took place with three other men outside.

The victim had serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police said a post-mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday.

A 40-year-old man from Worksop, a 26-year-old man from Nottingham and a 33-year-old man from Doncaster were initially arrested at the scene on suspicion of Section 18 assault.

On Monday, they were all further arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

The victim's family are being supported by specially trained officers and police asked that their privacy is respected.

The force appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
