Man Dies After Police Pursuit in Harehills
A man has died in a crash which happened after a police pursuit in Harehills.
At around 7pm yesterday, the 26-year-old's car collided with another vehicle on Roundhay Road at the junction with Roseville Road.
He'd failed to stop for a marked police BMW shortly before the collision.
He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A 37-year-old woman, who'd been driving the other car, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life threatening.
Superintendent Sam Millar said: ""We are investigating the circumstances of this incident and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.
"We have voluntarily referred this incident to the IPCC and currently we are working together to establish the full circumstances."
Anyone who witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it is asked to contact police on 101.
