Man Dies After Bus Collision

An investigation’s underway after the death of a 63 year old man at Middleton on Boxing Day evening. He was hit by a bus which he’d just go off – and died at the scene.

A 48 year old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving’s been bailed by Police.

The incident occurred at 5.50pm on Friday on Middleton Park Avenue at the junction with Throstle Road. Detective Sergeant Carole Greaves, of West Yorkshire Police's Major Collision Enquiry Team, said, "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, as we try to establish the full circumstances that led to this man's death.

"We are particularly keen to trace a potential witness who was a female passenger who we believe left the bus at the same time as the deceased."
