Man critically injured after assault outside Huddersfield bar

A man is in hospital with critical injuries after an assault in Huddersfield in the early hours of yesterday morning (July 15).

West Yorkshire Police say it happened outside the Revolution Bar in Cross Church Street, with the 23-year old knocked-unconscious.

The force have called in the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, with witnesses urged to come forward to help police with their investigations.

They haven't revealed if anybody is wanted by officers, as inquiries into what happened at about 4am yesterday morning continue.

In a statement yesterday, West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are appealing for information after a man suffered critical injuries outside licensed premises in Huddersfield.

"At 3.59am today (Saturday), police received a call from ambulance staff reporting an assault had occurred outside the Revolution Bar in Cross Church Street.

"|Officers attended and found a 23-year-old man in an unconscious state.

"He was taken to hospital. His injuries are said to be life threatening.

"A scene is in place in Cross Church Street for forensic examination.

"The incident is being investigated by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has footage that may assist to contact them."
