Man arrested after shooting in Bradford

A man has been arrested after shot were fired from a vehicle in Wibsey, in Bradford, on Saturday.

Officers were called to reports of shots being fired towards a house on Smith Avenue at 12:11pm on October 12.

Nobody was injured, but there was damage to a window and door of a home.

A 21 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Suzanne Hall, of West Yorkshire Police, said:

“We understand that any use of firearms will cause concern in the wider community.

“It cannot be understated how seriously we treat incidents of this nature and specialist officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are conducting extensive enquiries.

"We are working with our neighbourhood policing colleagues and patrols will be stepped up to provide reassurance.

“The people in the house are being safeguarded and a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at that time or who may have video footage/ring doorbell or dash cam of the incident, or circumstances leading up to it, to please come forward.”
