Man arrested after Huddersfield shooting

Police investigating a shooting in Huddersfield yesterday have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 33 year old was taken into custody this morning, following an attack on Wasp Nest Road at around 9am yesterday.

A man in his 50s suffered a leg injury, after a man got out of a grey car and fired a gun into the street.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital.

DCI James Entwistle, of West Yorkshire Police, said: “A number of active enquiries remain ongoing into this incident and we now have a man under arrest in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

“I want to thank those persons who have spoken with us so far and reiterate that we are still appealing for witnesses.
