Man appears in court charged with Huddersfield robberies

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with two robberies in Huddersfield earlier this week.

41 year old Shazad Afzal, of Cow Heys in Dalton, allegedly targeted a Tesco Express store on Long Lane and Bradley Filling Station on Leeds Road on Wednesday.

He was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon and has been remanded in custody.

He's due before Leeds Crown Court on September 9.
