A 17 year old boy has been stabbed and seriously injured, after a fight involving machetes in Leeds yesterday.

Police were called to reports of a fight involving a group of teenagers on Easterly Road, near the junction with Amberton Road, at 2:40pm yesterday.

The victim, who is also being questioned on suspicion of affray, suffered serious head injuries including 'substantial damage' to his ear.

His injuries are not life threatening but could be left changing.

Detective Inspector Dan Ridgway, of West Yorkshire Police, said: “This incident took place next to a busy dual carriageway in the middle of the afternoon, and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of it, particularly anyone with relevant dashcam or phone footage that could assist the investigation.”
