It's good news for drivers on the M621 this weekend when all of the day time traffic restrictions are removed.

On Saturday morning (07/07) the 30mph speed limit, which was put in place for safety reasons, will be lifted from both carriageways and drivers will once again be able to travel at the road’s usual 50mph limit.

The project – which began in November – has seen drainage work carried out between junctions 7 and 3, a steel safety barrier installed at the side of the motorway and a concrete barrier installed in the central reservation.

In total 3,401 metres of concrete barrier has been installed and more than 7,700 metres of resurfacing has taken place – improving journeys and safety along the M621.

Highways England project manager Esref Ulas said:

“We would like to thank drivers for their patience with our scheme while we carried out these vital safety improvements on this busy commuter route.”

The M621 will remain closed overnight in either direction between junctions 1 and 7 until mid-July. Signed diversions will be in place.
