Leeds United have signed a new 6ft 4in striker for an undisclosed fee.

Jay-Roy Grot comes over from from Dutch Jupiler League side NEC on a four year deal, keeping the 19-year-old at Elland Road until 2021.

Grot made his debut at NEC in 2015 and has already made 30 appearances in the Dutch top flight, the Eredivisie.

Speaking about the move, Grot said: “I am very happy, this is such a big club and this is a big step in my career, I am delighted to signed for Leeds United.

“It was been my dream to play in England and so to do that at a club like Leeds is really exciting.”

Grot is United's 13th signing of the summer transfer window and will wear the number 11 shirt.

He could make his debut in Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Earlier this week Chris Wood was signed to Burnley for a club record fee, thought to be worth £17 million.

He'll be reunited with the whites when they head to Turf Moor in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
