Thousands of people lined the streets to welcome home Yorkshire's Olympic and Paralympic legends in a huge homecoming parade.

Leeds' biggest sporting names piled on to six open-top buses to celebrate in their home city.

Triathlon superstars Alistair and Jonny Brownlee were among the athletes. They were joined by the likes of gymanstics bronze medalist Nile Wilson, record-breaking diver Jack Laugher and Paralympian Kadeena Cox.

Among the crowds were dancers from West Indian Carnival as well as samba bands which encaspulated the atmosphere of Rio along the Headrow and Briggate.

Yorkshire showcased just how talented they are over in Brazil, contributing an incredible 14 medals out of Team GB's tally of 67.

It was also a chance to celebrate the success of Paralympics GB - who smashed their London 2012 figure by claiming 147 medals.
