Leeds Man Admits Student Murder

A man’s pleaded guilty to murdering a Leeds student in the city.

20 year old Billy Mankelow, originally from Kent, was found under a railway arch with multiple injuries on Saturday 25th April. He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he died the following day.

Richard Danter, 31, of Queens Road Leeds, was arrested the same day.

Today he pleaded guilty to murder, appearing at Leeds Crown Court via videolink.

He’ll be sentenced on Friday 21 August and will remain in custody until then
