Leeds Festival has announced plans to reduce the amount of cash changing hands on site.

The event at Bramham Park from 27th to 29th August will see all food and drink paid for by card.

Organisers, who also run Reading Festival on the same weekend, have specified this includes ice cream!

Other purchases, such as merchandise and market traders, will be able to be paid for by cash, although cashless would be preferred.

Liam Gallagher, Stormzy and Post Malone are headlining the festival, which was one of the first events to commit to running in 2021.

In February, following the announcement of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown, organisers tweeted: 'Reading and Leeds 2021

'Following the government's recent announcement, we can't wait to get back to the fields this summer

'LET'S GO'

Attendees are being required to show proof of a negative lateral flow test or that they are fully vaccinated in order to access the site.
