Leeds Drivers In UK Top 10 For Road Rage

Leeds is the tenth worst place in the UK for road rage – which makes us worse than drivers in Manchester and London.

On average, drivers here will experience it every half hour, whether it’s beeping the horn, yelling out the window or displaying a hand gesture.

46% of us experience it regularly, in London it's 41%.

And rather than ignoring it, half of us respond!

Gladaena McMahon is an anger management coach and says it’s happening a lot in our city.

“46 % say they have it quite regularly so that’s quite high really, what we're really saying is that 3.18 months of your lives are spent fuming at people"

Whilst it’s not good for your health, it could also cause accidents.

“What you find is that you release a whole load of stress hormones, your blood pressure goes up.. but during that time you're not concentratign that well on the road, a car is a lethal weapon in the wrong hands.”

“It's not personal! Whatever this person has done they haven't set to go 'I'm going to get you today' - it may be they don't know the area, they were trying to find something or had a moments lapse, it's not personal.

“Put it into context - is it really the worst thing that could happen? A lot of people's thinking processes are 'how dare they do this' or 'I'm going to teach them' .. Well is it really the end of the world, is it worth having an accident for? “
