Police appeal for information after man enters River Aire in Knottingley
Nathan Stanley was seen going into the river on Wednesday evening
West Yorkshire Police have appealed to the public to help locate a man who went missing in the River Aire in Knottingley.
Nathan Stanley, aged 36 and from Ackworth, was seen entering the water near The Island in Knottingley at around 10pm on Wednesday evening (July 10th).
Emergency services arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the man entering the water, but failed to locate the man.
Stanley was seen in the area as he had gone finishing in the river together with a friend, before he was seen going into the water.
Searches are now underway from underwater rescue teams, as well as other multi-agency search teams, to try and find the missing man.
As the investigation and search mission continues, the Wakefield Crime Incident Department part of the force has appealed to the public to help in their enquiries.
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time of Nathan's disappearance is being urged to get in touch as soon as possible.
Investigators looking into Stanley's disappearance are hoping the public's information will help to work out whether Nathan made his way out of the river.
