Jet2 To Fly Customers Home
Leeds based Jet2.com say they're flying customers home from Tunisia today (Saturday 27th June) following yesterday's terrorist attack. The firm has issued the following statement: "Our flights are now departing from the UK to Enfhida Airport to repatriate, free of charge, those customers wishing to return home.
The holiday company has 1,244 passengers currently in Tunisia. Three aircraft have already been deployed from Manchester and Leeds Bradford Airports, the first of which will be landing at Enfhida at 15:00 local time. There is a fourth aircraft on standby as required.
Customers are currently being contacted via text message, mobile and email to update them regarding travel details. Those people in the resorts of Skanes, Sousse and Port el Kantaoui are being returned to the UK first and coaches will be departing this afternoon to take people to Enfhida."
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said, “Our absolute priority is to ensure the safe passage home of those customers wishing to travel as soon as possible. Aircraft are arriving now in Tunisia and will depart this evening. Passengers can rest assured that, as required, we will provide onward transport from Leeds Bradford and Manchester Airports.”
