Javi Gracia named as new Leeds United manager
The ex-Watford manager has agreed a 'flexible contract' at Elland Road
Leeds United have announced ex Watford boss Javi Gracia will take over as manager, subject to obtaining a work permit.
The club says the 52-year-old has agreed a flexible contract at Elland Road.
The Spaniard played for Valladolid, Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Cordoba before moving into management and taking charge of several European teams including Malaga and Valencia.
He also took charge of Watford in 2018 and helped the club secure their highest ever finish in the Premier League. He also led the club to the 2019 FA Cup final for just the second time in their history.
Gracia is still popular among the Watford fan base but was relieved of his duties four games into the 2019/20 season.
His first game in charge of the Whites could be Saturday’s Premier League clash at home to Southampton, subject to obtaining the necessary work permissions.
He takes over following the sacking of Jesse Marsch earlier this month.
