Inquest to open into death of popular Leeds DJ Alex T

An inquest will open today into the death of popular Leeds DJ Alex Theodossiadis, also known as Alex T.

The 25 year old passed away on 28 January 2020 at St James's Hospital after being admitted with symptoms of meningitis.

Originally from Manchester, Alex was a respected figure in the Leeds electronic music community.

He was best known for championing up and coming artists through a residency at Rinse FM, as well as his job at Leeds-based Tribe Records.

A hearing at Wakefield Coroners Court today will hear evidence from Alex's parents, Sue and Alex, as well as his friends and the doctors who treated him in the final hours of his life.

A memorial fund was opened in the weeks after Alex's death and has since raised thousands of pounds for Meningitis Now.
