Disruption expected as Huddersfield train station closes for repair work
No trains will be passing through the station during the weekend

Rail passengers in Huddersfield are being asked to make alternative arrangements as the town's train station is closed this weekend.
Trains will not be stopping in the station throughout Saturday and Sunday (June 8th and 9th), as upgrade work is carried out as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU).
People looking to travel to, from or through Huddersfield over the weekend will instead need to use rail replacement buses, with their tickets remaining valid for travel on the bus.
As well as this, passing trains will not even be passing through the station as vital work is done to repair the tracks and signalling.
The upgrade work is being done as part of the multi-mullion pound scheme which is due to improve transport for passengers travelling between Manchester and York.
Northern towns and cities including Leeds and Huddersfield will also stand to benefit from the repairs as it is hoped the areas will be better connected and be more environmentally friendly.
As part of the work, Huddersfield station is set to gain an extra two new platforms, with existing platforms being extended to help boost the capacity of the stop.
In addition, passengers will get to use new footbridges and lifts, as well as the front entrance being modified to improve accessibility.
Speaking on the disruption, Senior Sponsor of the TRU, Paul Sumner, said: "Huddersfield Station is an iconic building and an intrinsic part of West Yorkshire heritage, so whilst this series of improvements are necessary, the restoration and retention of its historic features is of paramount importance.
"That’s why – after an extensive in-depth planning process – the TRU will bring the station up to modern standards in terms of functionality, without harming its cultural and traditional significance," he added.
