Huddersfield have been denied promotion to the Premier League after losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in the Championship play- off final at Wembley.

The only goal of the game arrived just before half-time in the 43rd minute when James Garner's delivery into the box was converted into his own net by the unfortunate Huddersfield defender Levi Colwill.

Town had a couple of penalty appeals turned down in the second half, but the Terriers were ultimately unable to get back on level terms.

Their last chance for promotion to the Premier League was in 2017, where they were successful in beating Reading on penalties.

However, they were left at the bottom of the table two years after and relegated back to the Championship.

They'll stay in the Championship next season to battle with newly promoted teams Wigan Athletic, Rotherham United and Sunderland.

Meanwhile, they'll take on Norwich, Watford and Burnley following their relegation from the top flight.
