Man suffers severe leg injuries after being attacked in Huddersfield

A man in his 20s has suffered severe leg injuries after being attacked in Huddersfield.

Officers were called to Spinners Close at about 8.07pm on Tuesday (18th January) to reports that a man had suffered serious injuries after being attacked with a bladed weapon and other weapons by a group of masked men.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to the injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The suspects were described as dressed in dark clothing and wearing balaclavas.

DCI Oliver Coates of Kirklees Police, said:

"This has clearly been a very serious attack and I can promise residents that a full investigation is ongoing by detectives and colleagues today, with a number of active enquiries underway.

“We do believe this was a targeted assault against the victim and that there was no risk to the wider public."
