Since re-opening, some hospitality venues in West Yorkshire are now facing new challenges of reduced working hours due to staff shortages.

Some hotels and restaurants are having to reduce their opening hours because of staff shortages, which could be due to the long shifts, salary, and temporary contracts.

"The combination of Brexit, the combination of the pandemic, there is a shortage and it's not just in our sector."

Marco Pierre White, from Leeds owns restaurants across the county, he said:

"A friend of mine has got a restaurant, their head chef has been approached by 4 different individuals, who've rang up and asked to speak to the head chef, and they've been offering him work, a salary, and a package, people are really desperate.

"There is a really difficulty because of what's happened, the combination of Brexit, the combination of the pandemic, there is a shortage and it's not just in our sector.

"It's about every sector, the people who deliver to us, they're struggling to get staff as well, so that combination of it being Christmas every day, because we are rammed, and then the supplies struggling with staff it's extremely difficult."
