15 year old dies and two teenagers arrested after fatal crash in Hemsworth
It's after a scooter hit a road sign in the early hours of this morning
Two teenagers have been arrested after a 15 year old boy died in a fatal scooter crash in Hemsworth.
It happened on Market Street at around 1:20am this morning (July 17), when a Yamaha Delight 125cc struck a road sign.
The teenager who died suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital. Two other boys aged 15 and 16 have been arrested in connection with the collision.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of West Yorkshire Police, said: “Extensive investigations remain ongoing into this very serious collision which has sadly resulted in a young teenage male losing his life.
“Officers will be supporting his family as we investigate the circumstances of what took place.
“We have arrested two other males also believed to have been on the bike, and would like to speak to anyone who saw the Yamaha scooter being ridden in the Market Street area or near Tesco’s just before the incident.
