Dad and daughter killed in Heckmondwike house fire named

A dad and his daughter who were killed in a house fire in West Yorkshire on Sunday have been named as Sohaib Ahmed, aged 38, and Manahal Ahmed, aged nine.

Both were fatally injured after flames broke out at their home on Russell Close, Heckmondwike, early on Sunday morning.

Mr Ahmed's other daughter, who is 11 years old, remains in hospital in a critical but now stable condition.

Police are not treating the fire as suspicious, although investigations into the exact cause are continuing.
