Headingley Station To Be Made Accessible
Headingley train station to share in £60m funding to make it step-free
Headingley railway station is one of 26 nationally who are to share £60m to improve accessibility.
At the moment only one of the platforms has flat, step-free access, the other can only be reached via a steep staircase.
It makes travelling towards Leeds impossible for people with mobility issues. The changes will see wheelchair users and passengers with pushchairs able to get on both of the station's platforms.
The work across the country should be completed before 2019.
