Haulage Firm Hit Twice In Christmas Robberies

Security being tightened by haulier after 2 raids in a week

A Leeds haulage firm is tightening up security – after being targeted by thieves TWICE in just over a week. Farsley Transport on Gelderd Road was first broken into on the 13th of December and then again on the 21st. Police say hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of goods were stolen including:

  • Energizer batteries- Wilkinson Sword female razors- Next, Adidas and Reebok clothing- Adidas Duramo women's running shoes- Northface rucksacks- Allure menthol cigarettes- BOSE systems

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of both offences.

PC Rachel Jackson, of Leeds District CID, said: "Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of goods have been stolen in these two incidents, significantly impacting this local firm. We have been working closely with Farsley Transport Ltd who have taken measures to greatly improve their security.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about either of these incidents or who has been offered goods as described for sale in suspicious circumstances."
