Kerbside glass recycling could finally be coming to Leeds
The council leader has confirmed it is looking at introducing them before the summer
People in Leeds could finally have their glass recycling collected from green bins, under major changes planned by the council.
Leeds City Council leader James Lewis has told a budget meeting it is looking at introducing the service this summer.
He said: "We know there is a big demand from residents for more convenient glass recycling, so I am delighted to confirm people will be able to put glass in their green bin when the service is up and running later this year."
It would be the first time the council has introduced the policy.
Currently people living in the city have to take their glass to recycling points.
More details will be announced in near future.
