Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has taken the decision to further restrict visiting, due to rising coronavirus cases.
From today (5th January) patients on green (non-COVID-19) wards will only be allowed 1 dedicated visitor.
They can only stay for one hour, twice a week, if the patient has been in hospital for seven days or more.
All visitors must bring a negative lateral flow test with them.
Red (COVID-19) wards remain fully restricted other than in the case of exceptional circumstances.
All other areas, including maternity, remain as per previous guidance.
The trust says it will continue to support end-of-life visits for family and carers.
All visits suspended at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary:
All visits have been suspended with immediate affect at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Jo Fawcus, Chief Operating Officer said:
“We have seen a substantial increase in the number of patients who are COVID positive.
“We know how important visiting is both to our patients and their loved ones and so this clinical decision to suspend all but the most essential on-site patient visiting was tough one to make. We are continually reviewing the situation and will post updates on our social media channels and our website.
“Thank you for your continued support and understanding through these incredibly challenging times”.
The Trust says they have free NHS wi-fi throughout the hospitals and has a range of alternative ways to keep in touch with loved ones.
