Councillors and representatives from the Environment Agency will be at Radio Aire today (12th October) to answers your questions about proposals for a flood defense scheme in the city.

Between 3 and 9 pm, the station's hosting drop in sessions for local people.

It's one of seven across 8 weeks, as meetings are held for all members of the Leeds public.

Today’s drop in session is being held at our studio on Burley Road, but other venues include the George and Dragon Pub in Apperly Bridge, Kirkstall Leisure Centre and Kirkstall Abbey Deli Market.

These meetings come ahead of phase 2 of the flood scheme which is intended to reduce the risk of flooding to people, properties, and the environment along the River Aire.

It's after the devastation that the 2015 Boxing Day floods brought to Leeds, and the Council have teamed up with the Environment agency to hopefully, prevent this happening again.

If you want to stay up to date with it all you can visit www.leeds.gov.uk/fas, or pop into Radio Aire today to have a chat to the team.
