Flood cleanup on Kirkstall Road

Hundreds of people have turned out to help with the clearup around Kirskstall Road in Leeds.

The main route into the city had to be closed when the River Aire burst its banks and flooded the whole area. Scores of businesses have been affected, from shops near to the Cardigan FIelds cinema and leisure complex, along past the Radio Aire and Yorkshire Television studios and first into town. A has been set up to act as a focus for people who ar eintereste din helping with the clearup. With a new weather front on the way, the Action Room volunteers who are helping co-ordinate the response are calling for hessian bags and sand to try and barricade doorways just in case the river levels rise again. Jim Foulger has spoken to Josh who is helping with the clear-up.
