Fire Crews Tackle Another Blaze At Farnley Social Club
Residents want the building to be demolished, as they say it's a danger.
Fire crews from around West Yorkshire are called to Butt Lane in Farnley to tackle a fire at the Social and Sports Club.
The call was made at 5.28am, an aerial pump is being used to tackle the blaze from above, as well as 5 fire crews from Stanningley, Gipton, Hunslet and Leeds.
Jane Gilland lives opposite to where the fire started. She told Radio Aire this morning that she heard a big bang:
'I could hear popping and banging noises then I looked out the window and it had just gone up like a huge fireball with lots of smoke and flames. It's not safe now, there's lots of children round here anyone could just wonder round to have a look, once the fire brigade have gone. If it doesnt get knocked downthere is a risk of causing some serious harm'.
Butt Lane will be closed for most of the day, police cordons are around the area, with access only for residents.
