Farsley Celtic fixture against Chorley delayed after team gets stuck in traffic on M62
The West Leeds side are currently playing 'home' games in Derbyshire, due to issues with the playing surface at The Citadel
Farsley Celtic's National League North clash with Chorley was delayed by half an hour on Tuesday because the home side were stuck in traffic.
The Leeds-based club are currently playing their "home" games almost 70 miles away in Buxton due to ongoing pitch problems at their own ground, The Citadel.
And delays on the M62 led to the unusual scenario of the hosts facing a race against time to make the kick-off time while the visitors - who arrived shortly after six o'clock - kicked their heels in the away changing rooms.
Farsley confirmed in a post on X: "Tonight's game has been delayed till 8:15 with our team coach stuck on the motorway."
Farsley dug up their own turf at the end of last season in order to lay an artificial surface, which has been delayed due to what chairman Paul Barthorpe called "unavoidable and totally unforeseen" problems.
