EV charging bays approved for Bradford retail park
10 rapid chargers are going on at the Forster Square Retail Park
PLANS to install 10 ultra rapid EV charging bays in a Bradford retail park have been approved.
PoGo Charging submitted an application to create the new bays in a section of Bradford Forster Square Retail Park earlier this year.
Planned to be installed in a row of parking spaces in the south section of the retail park, next to Hamm Strasse, the work would create one of the biggest EV charging hubs in the city centre.
The plans have now been approved by Bradford Council.
The 10 EV bays will replace 19 spaces in the retail park’s car park – a loss of nine spaces.
But the application argued there are an ample number of other spaces available for drivers throughout the car park.
Planning officers said: “The charging points will enable customers and staff to of the retail park charge their vehicles in a convenient location.
“Considering the size of the car park which serves the retail park the number of proposed charging points (10) is viewed to be somewhat limited and the proposed works are considered to be of an appropriate design, scale and form.”
